Cottage roses painting on McKee door panel

Cottage roses painting on McKee door panel
This piece is a bit of a door salvaged from the McKee Mansion that once stood in Broken Rocks in Port Austin, Michigan.  Clad in its original chippy white and painted with pink roses, it was a bit of a challenge to get it apart!  Helen and Angie left it out over the winter in hopes it would easily break apart.

It did not.

Finally, Helen's husband had to take a saw to it!  The artist (me) is thrilled to have several lovely pieces of this door to work with.

Bug bites and thorns and dewdrops add to this beauty's fresh cottage charm.  Hung on the wall or stashed amidst your favorite cottage shabby chic display, this piece is utterly charming and one-of-a-kind.

Thick and substantial, executed in oil and acrylic, varnished for luminous depth and lasting durability. She is signed and will arrive ready to hang.
